Hotelarious Management Launched HOSES Program

Updated: Dec 25, 2023

Denpasar - CEO & Founder of Hotelarious, Komang Swesen, initiated the HOSES Program to offer opportunity to underprivileged student to enter hospitality industry. HOSES that stands for Hotelarious Snowball Education Support is aimed to help multiple students with single financial support by the establishment.

The program includes three corporations i.e. Hotelarious Management as the initiator; Yayasan Bhumi Bali Swari (YBBS) that will provide list of students in the need of help; and, Hotel & Cruise International College (HCIC) where the students will study about hospitality. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) were signed by three parties at the HCIC office on Monday, 13th November 2023, at about 11 am local time. Vice-chairman of the foundation, Made Karma, attended the ceremony on behalf of YBBS whose chairman were unable to present; HCIC's Director Gede Janardana was there as the host of the day and Komang Swesen himself represents the Hotelarious Management.

The scheme of the program were agreed as below:

  1. YBBS will provide list of passionate students with underprivileged background, that dreamed to work in the hospitality industry, mainly oversea, either on land or cruise ships.

  2. Hotelarious Management will do the selections and committed to pick only one student (can even be more if they receive sufficient amount of donation for the second student). It will take care of the academic bill aiming Diploma level 2.

  3. HCIC will do the rests: delivering their hospitality knowledge to the students and assist them finding job opportunities.

  4. Successful student will pay-forward the program by adopting (one) new student with exactly the same facilities and it goes on and on like snowball.

  5. On the other hand, Hotelarious will consistently adopt a student or two every year for the program.

Cost summary

In order to claim a Diploma 2, HCIC has set a one-time-school-fee of only IDR19 million per student (about U$1280), which is way cheaper than other hotel school on the island. Those amount covered the entire learning process and housing. They will also put our students as top priority to get an opportunity to work in a hotel as a daily worker on their spare time.

The student will also need to spend a sum amount of money for their first job. Since working in a cruise ship is limited to people over 21 years old, they will need to stand queue by working in a hotel abroad, for instance in Dubai (UAE). It will cost them up to IDR20 million (about U$1350) for documents and flight tickets. And then, to work in a cruise ship they will spend even more than this, which is up to IDR35 million (U$2365). In short, each HOSES students will need some USD3600 in order to successfully complete their study, and start their first job in a cruise ship.

How powerful is the HOSES Program?

If everything runs well the student should be able to pay off the bill after 2 years of working period. This would mean they will be able to adopt new student on their third year. If they start working in 2025, then the snowball will begin to roll in 2028.

The data shows that within ten years the program will be able to help up to 30 students. And, surprisingly, the snowball would roll even faster in the following ten years that it will help up to 100 students. This would mean there will be 110 students will enjoy the benefit of the program in twenty years times.

HOSES gained international support

Hotelarious were hosting a group of 46 cheerful Americans last November 2023, for eight nights. The trip was initiated by Darius whose 32nd birthday fell in between. One other member, Kim, was also celebrating hers in the same day. At the end of their trip, Darius initiated a community service by inviting the YBBS and number of kids they're supporting on the floor. On the other hand, Hotelarious were introducing the HOSES Program to all participants. The event attracted a lot of big hearted members to support both YBBS and the HOSES Program.

Spread the good KARMA with HOSES!

Hotelarious has committed to support one student per year and it shows that there would be 110 students in twenty years. If you join us in the program we might be able to double the number and make the snowballs roll faster. As the saying goes, whatever goes around comes around. The message is clear that by spreading good deed the universe will revert it back to yourself<>
